The Future of The Trinity School

The Future of The Trinity School

OVERVIEW

Due to a variety of circumstances, the Board of Directors of the Trinity on the Border ministry has decided that The Trinity School should move out from under the oversight and direction of our ministry after the current school-year. Although Trinity on the Border remains open to God’s intervention to provide the staffing resources to avoid this, it has been decided that the only action we will currently pursue is to transfer the oversight and direction of the Trinity School to a separate and distinct legal entity (yet-to-be) formed by the families of The Trinity School.

AGREEMENTS

  • If a single, separate and distinct non-profit entity is formed by the families of The Trinity School by June 1st, 2024, Trinity on the Border will transfer all school physical and financial assets to that new entity. (Note: teacher contracts are normally renewed in February, so practically, the date may be sooner than June 1.)

  • January-May 2024, Trinity on the Border will offer significant training to any families or future school board members on all of the theological, philosophical, and practical foundations that have made The Trinity School so wonderful for these past 6 years.

  • If the person who will be Chair of the yet-to-be formed Board for the first 2-years and at least 2 other people who will be voting members of that Board agree to undergo ALL of the theological, philosophical, and practical training mentioned above, then Trinity on the Border will also transfer all of the intellectual assets (legal name and website) over to the newly formed entity.

Notes on this item:

  • The transfer of physical and financial assets is not dependent upon receiving this training
  • But if the leadership of the new school board does not undergo the full training, it is expected that the school will operate under a different name after the current school year.
  • This full training will probably be 5-7 hours/ week at least including reading and discussion.

ACTION STEPS

  • Pray for the future of the school

  • If you would be willing to LEAD the proposed new school board, please let Michael know. (This will likely be a full-time job for the first couple years).

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • There are ways for the new board to create by-laws that will serve to protect much of the current culture of the school
  • Michael is available to help in drafting by-laws or thinking through other administrative concerns.
  • Just to be clear, the Ajamians and the Jarretts will not be on the new school board.
